About LockerNYC

GoLocker and NYCDOT are collaborating to provide LockerNYC, a shared use locker program.

These lockers serve as secure self-service access points designed to facilitate the collection of packages from online orders from multiple LockerNYC partners. This service ensures accessibility to customers 24/7.

When a package is deposited into a shared use locker, the recipient is promptly notified through either a text message or an email notification. This notification includes a unique single- use access code, as well as an optional QR code that may be scanned via smartphone. Additionally, these lockers can be utilized to initiate returns.

t's time to embrace the urban adventure, one package pickup at a time!

In NYC alone, 90,000 packages go missing daily.

Did you know that the utilization of public package lockers can improve delivery challenges for consumers, reduce carbon emissions and decrease congestion as well as double-parked commercial vehicles? 1.5 million packages are delivered daily in New York City, with 45% of New Yorkers receiving a home delivery at least once a week; many New Yorker’s do not have a safe, secure location for package storage.

E-commerce is increasing as is the demand for deliveries, with more commercial vehicles needing access to residential streets to complete local deliveries. NYCDOT and GoLocker invite the public to sign up to try LockerNYC free of charge* for package pick-ups and returns.

Where can I find LockerNYC?

You can find a locker by clicking here.

What makes a shared use locker better than home delivery of packages?

Home delivery is great, but if you’re not there when the package arrives, your package may get sent back due to a failed delivery attempt or your package is left on your doorstep for someone to steal.
We make sure someone is there to sign your stuff and allow you to pick up and send packages securely when you want and where you want, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How much time do I have to pick up my package?

After receiving a text or e-mail notification confirming delivery to a locker, you’ll have 24-72 hours pick up your package(s).

What can I ship through GoLocker?

As long as it fits in one of our lockers and adheres to our Terms & Conditions, you can ship pretty much anything.
Please note that we do accept large envelopes with tracking numbers, but we do not accept mail letters.

What are the package size and weight limits?

The maximum package size is:15”wide x 24 “high x 34”deep.
The maximum weight for a package is 45 pounds.
What if my package surpasses dimensional and/or weight limits? For oversized packages, a notification will be sent out and you will have two options:

1. Arrange with us for home delivery at an extra charge.
2. Make alternate arrangements to pick up your package for additional fees.

How will I know if my package is ready for pick up?

After we email or text you that your package has been delivered to our warehouse, we will notify you again as soon as it’s been placed into the GoLocker.
This email includes your Pick-Up Code.

Are my packages safe?

All GoLockers are guarded with state-of-the-art smart locks.
Once we secure your package in our lockers, we will send you a Pick-Up Code that will let you open your locker whenever you’re ready.
If you ever feel a package was damaged under our care, just let us know and we’ll work with you to resolve the problem.

Why wasn’t my Pick-Up Code emailed to me?

There are a few possibilities.

  • Check your spam folder, please!
  • Your shipper hasn’t delivered your package to our warehouse.
  • You can get package status visibility by logging into your GoLocker dashboardor downloading GoLocker app. If it has been delivered to the locker, the Pick-Up Code will be displayed. If the package hasn’t yet been delivered to the locker, this means it‘s on its way or we haven’t received it. When in doubt, contact us at: support@golocker.com
  • We have your package but haven’t yet delivered it to the GoLocker because of weather, traffic or processing cut off times.
  • We have your package, but it was delivered after processing cut off time of 3 pm local time in such case package will be delivered to locker the next day.
What if my Pick-Up Code doesn’t open the locker?

If you’ve tried entering your Pick-Up Code and the locker still doesn’t open, contact us at: support@golocker.com

How much does it cost for a customer to use a GoLocker at a LockerNYC location?

All LockerNYC lockers are free for customers to use under the pilot program jointly operated by NYC DOT and GoLocker with participating parcel LockerNYC partner companies.

How do smart lockers work?

GoLocker lockers work off ‘smart technology,’ like smartphones.
Smart technology that is integrated into the shared use locker system is provided by the Cloud and/or linked with a smartphone application. Customers do not need a smartphone to access lockers. An access code may be entered in place of scanning a QR code at the locker terminal for locker access.
While a smartphone is not required, the recipient also can get visibility into their package statuses and access codes by logging into their GoLocker website or GoLocker mobile app.

How is a GoLocker locker different from parcel lockers I’ve seen at pharmacies, bodegas, gas stations, etc.?

Most parcel lockers that currently exist are single use lockers; these types of lockerscan only be accessed by a single LockerNYC partner company.
Shared use lockers can be accessed by any LockerNYC partner company, offering the opportunity for greater package consolidation at one location.
